Vanessa Smith is a digital technology executive with more than 25 years of experience across sales and go-to- market functions. As President of ServiceNow.org, Vanessa is building a new organization serving the global nonprofit sector to leverage the power of technology to solve the world’s most challenging problems. The role brings together her deep digital transformation experience and passion for social impact. 

Vanessa joined ServiceNow in September 2020, as SVP of the Strategic Go-to-Market organization, encompassing the Business Value, Industries, and Top Accounts teams, eventually expanding to Solution Sales.    

These roles demonstrate ServiceNow’s commitment to how specialists drive a deeper customer-centric philosophy, while ensuring customer success as the company scales to $16B in annual revenue and beyond.

Prior to ServiceNow, Vanessa spent 16 years at SAP. Most recently she was the head of SAP’s SuccessFactors business in North America, where she was responsible for driving Human Capital Management sales and go-to-market strategy, overseeing core operations including pipeline development, demand management, and revenue growth.

Prior to that, Vanessa was regional vice president for SAP’s Strategic Customer Program, driving multi-year, technology-enabled strategic engagements with strategic accounts across North America. Vanessa also served as Chief-of-Staff for former SAP CEO, Bill McDermott and instituted the Chief Diversity Officer role as part of the Office of the CEO mission to drive diversity and inclusion as a marketplace differentiator. She also held several leadership positions in SAP’s Industry Value Engineering organization and engaged in GTM strategy for the company’s cloud acquisitions.

Before joining SAP in 2004, Vanessa held product and solution marketing positions at GE Global Exchange Services (GXS, now OpenText) and was an associate at A.T. Kearney, a strategy and operations management consultancy.
